Famous For:

New Mexico is the third leading crude oil and natural gas producer in the United States. New Mexico also ranks as an important center of Native American culture. The reservation of the Navajo Nation ranks as the largest in the United States. A large artistic community thrives in Santa Fe, NM. The capital city has museums of Spanish colonial, international folk, Navajo ceremonial, modern Native American, and other modern art.

Explore Carlsbad Caverns National Park that contains some of the largest caves in North America and Chaco Canyon National Historical Park- 20 miles stretch of Chaco Wash in the San Juan Basin that was a major center of Puebloan culture between AD 850 and 1250. The Albuquerque Biological Park is a terrific place to enjoy while visiting the Southwest. The park is comprised of four different attractions- the Albuquerque Aquarium, the Rio Grande Botanic Garden, the Rio Grande Zoo and Tingley Beach.
