Famous For:

Missouri is the native state of Mark Twain. Twain grew up in Hannibal, Missouri, which would later provide the setting for Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer. Missouri is also known as "The Cave State" with over 6000 recorded caves. Harry S. Truman was the 33rd President of the United States who was born in Missouri.
